Free Light Bulbs?

We retrofit over a 1,000 fixtures a month, and we have to properly dispose of and recycle the lamps and ballasts we take out. We typically will recycle them once a month, and may have surplus "used" lamps and ballasts on hand. Non profit organizations get first priority. Please use the form below to request items.

What types of lamps and ballasts will you typically have?

  • T12 Fluorescent lamps (4' and 8' and U shaped) Occasionally odd sizes.
  • T12 Magnetic Ballasts (2 lamp and 4 lamp) 4' and 8'
  • HID lamps and ballasts, and occasionally entire fixtures
  • Incandescent light bulbs, spot lights, halogens

What condition are they in?

  • Most all are in working condition when we bulb.bmpremove them, but we typically supply you with more than your request to account for some non-working lamps or ballasts. We do not mark them as we remove them, as we have to recycle them all. Remember, all of our clients have taken out the older technology to move to more energy efficient fixtures, so condition varies depending on the age and the environment they come from.
  • We only supply non leaking non-PCB ballasts.
  • No warranties are expressed or implied of any kind - as there is no charge for this material.

Do you deliver?

  • No delivery is available. Free lamps and ballasts are by pickup only, and only by scheduled pickup times as material is available. No walkins.

How much notice do I need to give you?

  • At least a week. Depending on availability and our last recycling trip, we may have no material available for you of the type you request.

What's the catch?

  • No catch at all. We don't even require that we give you a retrofit bid in order to receive free light bulbs from Energy Retrofitter, Inc. We understand that not all businesses are ready to retrofit their buildings, even though the projects are self funding and financing is available. (That's the extent of our sales pitch) Sure we would like to know why you'd want to put old material back in when better and more energy efficient material exists that pays for itself in no time at all, but we don't even ask. Because that is the case, when you contact us, you can just expect an email response to your request of yes or no, and a date and time for pickup. Simple, painless, and easy.
